Carlow County Council is proud to champion youth creativity and environmental awareness through the Rubbish Film Festival. Our joint commitment to sustainable development ensures that young filmmakers not only learn new media skills but also gain an understanding of how local actions contribute to global change.
This is the third year that the Festival has run in partnership with Carlow County Council. Almost 110 students in 9 secondary schools across Co. Carlow directly participated in an onsite two-day workshop focused on environmental storytelling through film.

The Regional Awards were held onsite at the Visual Theatre on the 5th March, with many schools, and special guests Cllr. Ken Murnane (Cathaoirleach), Eithne Burke (EAO), Dee Sewell (EAO) and KCLR’s James Lakes (MC) in attendance. The event was covered by KCLR 96FM, too.
