Tipperary County Council is proud to champion youth creativity and environmental awareness through the Rubbish Film Festival. Our joint commitment to sustainable development ensures that young filmmakers not only learn new media skills but also gain an understanding of how local actions contribute to global change.
This is the second year that the Festival has run in partnership with Tipperary County Council. Approximately 140 students from 12 secondary schools across Co. Tipperary directly participated in an onsite two-day workshop focused on environmental storytelling through film.

The onsite Regional Awards were held at the Horse & Jockey Hotel on the 18th March 2026, with many schools, and special guests Leas Chathaoirleach, Cllr. Mark Fitzgerald, Environment Director of Services Eamon Lonergan and EAO Fiona Flynn, as well as a number of other Tipperary Co. Council representatives in attendance.
