The Importance of Consent Forms
Consent forms are essential to ensure that parents/guardians are fully informed about their child’s participation in the Rubbish Film Festival workshop.
The forms give permission for activities such as filming, photography, and creative work, and also cover the fact that County Councils may wish to use images or films on social media or in press coverage.
As the student movies will be shown publicly as part of the festival, it is vital that consent is confirmed in advance. No student can participate in the workshop without a signed consent form, ensuring full safeguarding for students, teachers, and facilitators.

Your Creative Challenge
This is where your vision takes shape. In the Rubbish Film Festival, you’ll craft a short film that confronts real-world environmental challenges, from climate action to responsible consumption.
The Brief
Craft a Story That Sparks Change
In this competition, you and your team will create a short film that directly addresses environmental issues. Maybe you’ll highlight the impact of climate change in your community or explore better ways to produce and consume responsibly.
The Format
Keep It Short, Make It Powerful
Your film should pack a punch in a short timeframe. Typically, entries run up to 60 seconds for certain competitions (or check your region’s rules), so every second counts. This limit challenges you to be concise, focusing on the essence of your story.
The Theme
Themes That Matter
Think about what affects your neighbourhood: Are there too many single-use plastics? Is local wildlife suffering from pollution? Could people recycle more or choose sustainable products instead?
